This article tells you how to enable SSL encryption for SSL POP3, SSL IMAP and SSL SMTP in Outlook 2016, 2010 and 2007.
- Open Outlook
- Click File > Account Settings > Account Settings…
- Select your Email account and click Change…
- Change the following settings:
- Incoming mail server:
- Enter example.com, replacing example.com with your domain name.
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP):
- Enter example.com, replacing example.com with your domain name.
- Click More Settings …
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Change the following settings:
IMAP accounts
- Incoming Server (IMAP) – Use the following type of encrypted connection: Select SSL
- Outgoing Server (SMTP) – Use the following type of encrypted connection: Select SSL
POP3 accounts
- Incoming Server (POP3) – This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL): Checked
- Outgoing Server (SMTP) – Use the following type of encrypted connection: Select SSL
- Click OK
- Click Next
- Click Finish
